Anthropocene Dream, 2024, 78 x 16 x 2 inches, Archival digital prints, repurposed fabrics, repurposed plastics, indigo dyed cotton, metal chain, glass jars, embroidery thread, soil from pre-glacial melt Long Island, soil from house plant, chicken bones from dinner.
This work was created during my USI Swale residency and came from conversations around soils and the anthropocene. When working with soil scientists for my project, I had a conversation about what markers in the earth might indicate the anthropocene, which hasn’t been physically proven yet.
